Barback duties & Job description
What we are looking for in our barbacks:
Be organized. A tight bar and kitchen area means you must keep your work area organized.
Be proactive. Do not wait to be asked – if it looks like it needs to be done, it probably does, if you aren’t sure ASK.
Be able to multitask. Being a barback is a fast-paced position that might require you to focus on multiple tasks. You might be in the middle of one task and be asked to do another. You need to be able to go from task to task as needed.
Have excellent customer service skills. You aren’t working as directly with the customer as a bartender is, BUT there will still be situations where you might interact. It is important to be able to aid when needed OR find someone who can help.
Be able to prioritize the needs of the bartender. Seeing what is most important and doing that first is a vital part of this position. If you are not sure what is most important, ASK what you should do first.
